For the Filling:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp sour cream

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 large egg (for sealing)

  • ¾ cup finely chopped fresh or canned peaches (drained if canned or thawed if frozen)

For Assembly:

  • 24 wonton wrappers (2-inch squares)

  • Small bowl of water (to help seal edges)

  • Neutral oil for frying (like vegetable or canola)

Instructions

1. Make the Cream Filling

In a medium bowl, mix together:

  • Cream cheese

  • Sugar

  • Sour cream

  • Vanilla extract

  • Flour

Stir until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in chopped peaches.

2. Assemble the Wontons

  • Beat the egg in a small bowl.

  • Lay out a few wonton wrappers at a time (keep the rest covered with a damp towel).

  • Place 1 heaping teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper.

  • Lightly brush the edges with egg wash or water.

  • Fold into a triangle or bring all corners up to create a purse shape. Press edges firmly to seal.

3. Fry the Wontons

  • Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or saucepan to 350°F (175°C).

  • Fry 4–5 wontons at a time, turning as needed, until golden brown (about 2–3 minutes).

  • Remove and place on a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil.

4. Serve

Serve warm, optionally dusted with:

  • Powdered sugar

  • Cinnamon sugar

  • Or Vanilla Peach Glaze

    • ½ cup peach preserves or peach jam

    • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

    • 1 tbsp butter

    • ½ tsp vanilla extract

    • 1–2 tsp water or lemon juice (to thin as needed)

      • Make the Vanilla Peach Glaze

In a small saucepan over medium heat:

        • Melt peach preserves and butter together.

        • Whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and a splash of water or lemon juice.

        • Simmer for 1–2 minutes until smooth and pourable.

These are best enjoyed fresh, while crispy and gooey inside!

Tips & Variations

  • Air Fryer: Brush with oil and cook at 375°F for 7–8 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • Make-Ahead: Assemble and freeze uncooked wontons on a tray; fry straight from frozen (just add a minute or two to the cook time).

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the filling for a cozy twist.

  • Serve with a vanilla or caramel dipping sauce for extra decadence.
