Brown butter glaze is a culinary delight that turns ordinary dishes into extraordinary experiences. With its rich nutty flavor and creamy texture, this sauce works wonders for both sweet and savory recipes. Imagine drizzling it over perfectly roasted vegetables or incorporating it into decadent desserts, perfect for fall scones, spice cakes, pumpkin bread, or even cookies.

Brown Butter Glaze
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1¾ to 2 cups powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk or cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: pinch of salt or cinnamon for extra warmth
Instructions:
Brown the butter:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Stir often until it begins to foam, then turns golden brown and smells nutty (about 5–7 minutes). Watch closely so it doesn’t burn.
Immediately remove from heat and pour into a heat-safe mixing bowl to stop the cooking.
Make the glaze:
Let the brown butter cool for 5 minutes, then whisk in the powdered sugar, starting with 1¾ cups.
Add vanilla and 2 tablespoons of milk or cream.
Mix until smooth. Adjust with more sugar (for thicker glaze) or more milk (for thinner consistency).
Use:
Drizzle over warm or cooled baked goods. The glaze will firm up slightly as it cools.
Flavor Ideas:
Add ½ tsp cinnamon or nutmeg for a warm spice kick.
Swap vanilla for maple extract for a Brown Butter Maple Glaze.
Add a splash of bourbon or rum for a grown-up twist.
