Crispy Honey Garlic Salmon

Ingredients

  • 2 skin-on salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp garlic paste

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest

  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

  • Sesame seeds, toasted (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Salmon Pat the salmon dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. Sear the Salmon Heat olive oil in a nonstick or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon skin-side down and cook without moving for about 4–5 minutes, until the skin is crispy and the salmon is mostly opaque.Flip and cook another 2–3 minutes, or until just cooked through. Transfer to a plate.

  3. Make the Glaze In the same pan (reduce to medium-low), add:

    • 2 tbsp honey

    • 2 tbsp soy sauce

    • 1 tbsp garlic paste

    • 1/2 tsp lemon zest

    • Stir and let it bubble for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. Glaze the Salmon Return the salmon to the pan and spoon the sauce over the fillets for 30–60 seconds, just until glazed.

  5. Garnish & Serve Transfer to plates and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.


Serving Suggestions

  • Serve over jasmine rice, coconut rice, or soba noodles.

  • Add sautéed bok choy, steamed broccoli, or a quick cucumber salad for freshness.

  • A wedge of lemon on the side brings out the brightness of the glaze.


Miso-Glazed Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mixed vegetables (e.g. carrots, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, mushrooms, or zucchini), chopped into bite-size pieces

  • 2 tbsp miso paste (white or yellow preferred)

  • 1 ½ tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp mirin

  • 1 tbsp garlic paste

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Prep the Veggies Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Toss the chopped vegetables with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them in a single layer on the baking sheet.

  2. Roast the Vegetables Roast for 15–20 minutes, or until tender and beginning to brown. Stir once halfway through for even cooking.

  3. Make the Miso Glaze While veggies roast, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add miso paste, maple syrup, mirin, and garlic paste. Whisk until smooth and just bubbly (about 1–2 minutes). Remove from heat.

  4. Glaze & Finish Once the vegetables are roasted, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the miso glaze over the veggies and toss until evenly coated.

  5. Serve & GarnishTransfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with sliced scallions .Serve warm as a side or over rice for a satisfying vegetarian main.


Tips & Variations

  • Use white miso for a milder flavor or red miso for deeper intensity.

  • Great vegetable combos:

    • Carrots + Brussels sprouts + red onion
